I'm a bit nervous half of you trusted readers will vanish, especially since free wordpress doesn't allow for Google friends connect. The new design, however, is totally worth the risk and hassle.

Blog Anniversary and the Superheroes of Science Blogfest
On September 25th, I will have blogged for an entire year. It's weird to think about it. Time flew by at an incredible speed, and the idea that I'll have written 200 of these little posts by then is mind-numbing. I mean, really? I found something to say on 200 different days through the year? And there's, what, 131 followers that found it interesting enough to stay around? Wow.
It deserves a little something special, don't you think? I sure do.
I'm doing two things. The first is a gift for myself, and the second is, well, something I thought would be fun for everyone. I sure hope so anyway!
Number One: I'm moving the blog! The new one will be on wordpress, with a new name and a new design. There are several reasons for why I'm changing from blogger to wordpress, including flexibility, comment threads and, well, just liking wordpress more. So, future new blog, whoo!
Number Two is the Superheroes of Science Blogfest!
The last time I organised something here (a guest blogger and giveaway), I asked you what aspects of science creeped you out. There were tons of awesome answers, and it remains the most popular post I have to date.
This time we'll visit the other side of science. It deserves some love! Here's how it'll go.
The blogfest takes place between Sept 25th and Sept 30th, on my new digs and your respective blogs. You can participate by answering to one of the prompts below (or anything related) and adding your name to Linky below.
There is a secret prize! At the end of the blogfest, I will use my awesome dice to pick the winner from participants. No extra entries, though you're welcomed to post more than once on the topic. It just won't count for the giveaway. (It'll count as points in my heart, though. I promise!)

Who is the most memorable scientist character to you? What's so special about him?
What scientists - dead, alive or fictional - made a difference in your life?
Is there a scientist you admire? What has he discovered or what is he working on?
This blogfest is as much about fictional science than real one - whichever suits your boat the most. Feel free to take "scientist" in the larger sense of the word. They don't have to be chemist with the beaker in their hands. They can be physicists with wild theories as much as the first mathematicians or philosophers who tried to understand nature. It's a scientist to you? Then it is for me!

I Am Versatility
Or so I like to think. Apparently, someone agrees, because Tricia passed along this fantastic blog award!
The rules of the award are:

Ookay, so I did the 7-facts thing before, for the Stylish Blogger Award. Then I found 5 more for A to Z Blogger's challenge. Let's see if I can feed you seven more little bits of my life, hm?
1. When I write, I eat my nails so much I end up bleeding. The only exception is the second half of NaNoWriMo: by then I don't have anything left to eat!
2. I am a die-hard Pokemon fan. I still play the game, and I still own my old PKMN Blue. It was the first video game I ever bought for myself.
3. I always check immatriculation plaques on cars. When I find one that is not from Quebec, I wonder what his story is and why he's in Quebec City. The furthest I've seen is British Columbia (for Canada) and Arizona (with a shout out to the Texas I saw this week). I started this when I travelled with school in the states. Now it is a speed game with my boyfriend.
4. When I visited England for the first time, I had 20 full days without rain. I heard the weather was shitty at home throughout the duration of that trip.
5. I had to stop writing this post because I couldn't find anything else, and came back later with #6 and #7.
6. My day is not complete without Nutella. I put it on untoasted bread, first thing in the morning. If I don't get my Nutella, I am grumpy.
7. My collection of giant microbe plushes continues to grow! The cashier was so confused when I arrived at the counter with these. M'hahaha.

SB at Writing the Other: SB is one of my fellow wicked author, and I have to say, her personal blog is full of thoughtful posts about just every aspect of writing fantasy in the world. I say fantasy, but most can apply elsewhere too. Food for thoughts, every single post.
Elizabeth Twist: I got hooked to Elizabeth over the course of the A to Z Challenge. She's funny, creative, knowledgeable about illnesses in Middle Age (yeah, that's what drew me in, I'll admit) and super cool to hang with. Go visit!
Sarah McCabe at The Aspiring Subcreator: It's a real mystery that it took me so long to hang out at Sarah's place (not that I've commented yet, but I'm def there!) When you think about it, someone who did her entire A to Z on worldbuilding should've been right up my alley.
So there, three new sites to visit! Have fun.

Longhand Post Writing
You know, yesterday's post about writing longhand? It was written... with pen on paper. Yep!
It took me exactly one page, which is nifty for scanning. So there you go, that's yesterday's post in all its handwritten glory. (ha!)
